The Blades have secured top spot in the regular season!
Our American football team dominated the second division and secured home advantage for both the semi-finals and the final of the Silver Bowl. In their final regular-season match, they beat Bratislava 22–17.
The North Bohemian A-team have put together a really strong squad this year. Out of the seven matches we’ve played, we’ve won all seven – the only team to stop us were the Prague Lions, who beat us 23–20 in May at our Municipal Stadium in Ústí nad Labem.
We secured victory in the decisive regular-season match away at the Bratislava Monarchs, turning a 3–7 deficit into a 16–7 win. Štepán Sochor played a decisive role, scoring two touchdowns and brilliantly bringing us back into the game. In sweltering heat (almost forty degrees!), our players then fought to maintain their lead and managed to hold on for a 22–17 victory.
Winning the regular season means that we’ll be playing the semi-finals (4–5 July) and any potential Silver Bowl final at home in Olšinky. This is a huge advantage for us, and let’s hope we can go all the way to the top.
