Youth Sports Centre

In 2010, we met the demanding criteria set by the Czech Football Association (FAČR) for the award of an SCM licence. There are 42 such centres in the Czech Republic; they operate under a decree issued by the Ministry of Education and Sport and, in the training of young footballers, build on the work of sports classes in primary schools. They collaborate with partner secondary schools on the basis of agreements.

Philosophy

The basic conditions for being granted an SCM licence are the provision of appropriate training facilities, high-quality coaching staff (pre-licence and A-licence holders) and, last but not least, the number of youth teams and the level of competitions (SCM-ČFL youth teams and men’s Second Division).

The concept of SCM FK Ústí is based on the position we occupy within the football hierarchy, namely a position between the lower-tier teams in the district and region, whilst acting as a feeder club for top-flight football. Players such as Beneš, Zoubel, Jindráček and Česlák serve as role models for the next generation of young footballers in Ústí nad Labem.

That is also why, within the SCM, we do not seek to keep players in their age-group teams at all costs. On the contrary, we do not prevent players who have already demonstrated, through their performance and physical stature, that they could compete at a higher level from further developing their talent. U19 players from the relevant age groups take part in selected events with the first team and, where necessary, join the training sessions and even the starting line-up.

Facilities

SCM uses the facilities at Klíše and the main stadium complex with its all-weather pitch. The facilities meet the training and match requirements of the youth teams. There are two grass pitches and one artificial turf pitch available.

Training Programme

All teams train four times a week in the afternoon and once during school hours in the morning. They have one day off from school. Recovery is, of course, part of the weekly microcycle. Players in the Under-19 A team and identified talents undergo individual training sessions according to a schedule. On Tuesdays, we focus on group training sessions organised by formation, and goalkeeping training takes place.
