Although it was pouring with rain on Friday, 1,811 spectators turned up in Ústí nad Labem for the top-of-the-table clash between Viagem and Dukla. Our lads rewarded the fans with a 3–1 victory, which moved us up to second place in the table for the time being.

Friday evening in Ústí nad Labem was all about football, even though the weather was certainly not on the side of either the players or the spectators. Despite the persistent rain, 1,811 spectators made their way to the stadium for the exciting clash between Viagem and Dukla, according to the official match report.

The fantastic atmosphere in the stands was provided mainly by the visitors from Prague, who weren’t too bothered by the weather – their section was sheltered by the roof of the stand. Whilst the Dukla fans sat in the dry, our loyal supporters, who call themselves the ‘Arms’, had to battle the rain for the full ninety minutes. Covered seating in the main stand is limited to around 800 seats, so a large proportion of the Armové simply had to brave the inclement weather.

Nevertheless, our fans showed real heart and fighting spirit. Throughout this evenly matched and entertaining match, they cheered our lads on to victory with all their might, no matter how hard the rain came down.

And their dedication paid off – Viagem came out on top, winning 3–1. What’s more, this crucial victory has moved us up to second place in the table for the time being, which is a great testament to the team’s form and the fantastic support from the stands.
