Viagem thrashed former league side Dukla 3–1 and are second in the table

After two slip-ups against the newcomers, the Ústí footballers were back to their best and picked up maximum points. They beat former top-flight side Dukla Prague 3–1 at home, propelling them up to second place in the table.
After two unnecessary defeats against the league’s newcomers, our first team got back to winning ways – and did so in fine style. We welcomed former top-flight side Dukla Prague to our ground and, following a very good performance, beat them 3–1.
A solid first half was capped by a superb free-kick from David Březina, which put our team ahead three minutes before half-time. Dukla’s goalkeeper Jágrik had no chance against that marvellous strike into the top corner.
“Compared to previous matches, this one was different in that the newcomers had nothing to lose; they were full of enthusiasm. We know that from last season. Dukla are in a different situation; they want to get back into the league. But it was a tough match, much like the other second-division fixtures. My set-piece? The goalkeeper was a bit behind the wall. I thought to myself I’d crack it to his side. It worked,” smiled Březina after the match.
The second goal, scored by our Gabonese player Do Marcolino with the help of Dukla’s captain, brought us even closer to the three points.
Despite a string of further chances, neither team could find the net for a long time, but the fans certainly weren’t bored. In the 72nd minute, the visitors’ Mikuš pulled one back, but Dukla’s efforts to equalise in stoppage time were thwarted by a breakaway from Do Marcolino. The Viagem phenomenon turned his run into a goal that sealed the win, after which our players in blue jerseys were able to celebrate three points and a leap to second place in the table.
